WNBA Finals Game 4 preview: Lynx at Indiana

Preview: Indiana routed the Lynx 76-59 in Game 3 of the WNBA Finals to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series. Since 2005, when the best-of-three format was adopted, three teams have trailed 2-1 and won the league championship. Detroit in 2006 and Phoenix in 2007 and in 2009, the second time against Indiana.

Lynx at a glance: The Lynx shot a horrible 28.9 percent through three quarters before reserves improved their final field-goal percentage to 38.5. ... Seimone Augustus (six points) and Maya Moore (eight) were held under 10 points for the first time in this year's playoffs. ... The Lynx tied a WNBA Finals record with just six assists; the only starter with an assist was Augustus with two. ... Looking for a bright spot from the doom and gloom of Game 3? The Lynx had a 22-4 advantage in bench points.

Indiana at a glance: The Fever turned up the heat on defense early. It had six of its nine steals in the first quarter. ... Guard Shavonte Zellous has had back-to-back season highs in points. She had 16 points in Game 2, 30 in Game 3. ... The last Eastern Conference team to win the league title was Detroit in 2008. ... Fast-break points were 14-0 in Indiana's favor through three quarters Friday. ... Game 3 sold out, with a little more than 18,000 fans attending; another sellout is expected for Game 4. ... The Fever, which finished second in the East, was 22-12 overall during the regular season, 13-4 at home.
