Lynx gameday preview

  • Updated: October 18, 2012 - 6:09 PM

Preview: The best-of-five series shifts to Indiana for Games 3 and 4 tied at one victory apiece. Indiana won the first game 76-70 on Sunday, led by center Erlana Larkins' 16 points and 15 rebounds. The Lynx won the second game 83-71 on Wednesday. The team's three Olympians -- Seimone Augustus, Maya Moore and Lindsay Whalen -- combined to score 64 of those points.

Lynx at a glance: Indiana coach Lin Dunn said Augustus was capable of winning a game by herself and had to be closely guarded -- and she was proven right. Augustus was quiet for a half in Game 2, then scored 23 of her 27 points in the second half. ... The Lynx outrebounded the Fever 32-20 and scored 24 points -- to the Fever's three--off 17 second-chance shots. ... The Lynx have a five-game winning streak at Indiana.

Indiana at a glance: Indiana expects to draw bigger crowds than the 14,000 and 13,000 for the first two games at Target Center. Maybe that will lift the team's spirits. Besides being clobbered on the boards in Game 2, the Fever committed 24 turnovers. ... Katie Douglas, the team's second-leading scorer, is likely to play after missing the first two games of the series because of a sprained left ankle. She averaged 15.5 points in the Fever's two regular-season losses to the Lynx. "Things are going well and things are looking good for me," Douglas said Thursday. "I don't know what good is, and I don't want to elaborate on 'good', but things are getting better every day." The Fever needs her badly. ... Guard Jeanette Pohlen injured her left knee Wednesday. Pohlen is a key reserve who makes 41.7 percent of her three-point attempts.
