Lynx-Seattle Game 3 preview

  • Updated: October 1, 2012 - 11:08 PM

Preview: The Lynx are in the same do-or-die situation as last year in their best-of-three Western Conference semifinal series. They are tied 1-1 with Seattle, but they play the deciding game at home. Last year the Lynx beat San Antonio 85-67 in the third game of their opening playoff series, as Seimone Augustus scored 22 points. That victory was the start of a six-game winning streak which ended with an WNBA title. Will history repeat itself?

Lynx at a glance: Forward Rebekkah Brunson led the Lynx with 22 points and 15 rebounds in an 86-79 double-overtime loss at Seattle on Sunday. She was 9 -for-15 from the field, but the rest of the team shot just 25.8 percent. Even Augustus, who scored 14 points in the third quarter and finished with 20, had only one point in the fourth quarter and two overtimes. ... The Lynx are 4-2 against the Storm this season, 3-0 at home.

Seattle at a glance: Storm center Lauren Jackson didn't make a basket until late in the third quarter, but her three-pointer with 1.1 seconds left in regulation sent Game 2 into overtime tied 70-70. The three-time WNBA MVP also had 14 rebounds in 33 minutes, both season highs.
