Apple Valley center A.J. Michaelson and defenseman Brady Skjei, who played for Lakeville North last season, are still weighing their college options.

Michaelson, a junior, recently visited Minnesota and North Dakota but has not decided on a school.

He has at least two more visits left, one to Bemidji State and another to Minnesota State Mankato. "In college, I roomed with Tom Serratore and Troy Jutting," said Jeff Michaelson, A.J.'s father. "They are still buddies. We'll check [those schools] out."

Serratore is the head coach at BSU, Jutting at MSU Mankato. Michaelson played with them at Bemidji State in the mid-1980s.

A.J. had 19 goals and 16 assists for 35 points in 24 games for the Eagles last season. He was a plus-12. He is 6-1 and about 180-185.

Jeff Michaelson said his son was originally going to wait until after the high school seaosn to make a decision, but now might decide before the season starts.

Skjei is leaving in early September to join the U.S. national development program in Ann Arbor, Mich.

He has visited four schools, Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota and Minnesota Duluth, his father Scott.

"He has not committed," Scott Skjei said, "He still has a couple visits to go."

Skjei had 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points in 30 games for Lakeville North last seaosn. He was a plus-19.
