Robert Sacre scored 14 points and Gonzaga won the Maui Invitational for the first time in three tries, beating Cincinnati 61-59 in overtime Wednesday night at the Lahaina Civic Center.
Cancun Challenge final: No. 5 Kentucky 73, Stanford 65 (OT)
Freshman sensation John Wall scored a season-best 23 points, including clutch shots in the final minute that sent the game to overtime, and No. 5 Kentucky closed with an eight-point run for a 73-65 victory over gritty Stanford on Wednesday night in the championship game of the Cancun Challenge at the Moon Palace Resort.
Damian Johnson had 18 points and No. 22 Minnesota earned its first win away from home this season, beating No. 12 Butler 82-73 on Thursday in the first round of the 76 Classic.
