According to coach Tim Brewster ...On last year's regular-season finale: "We study [that game], we take a look at it, we remember. We did not play well in the last game against those guys last year. ... This is an opportunity for us to go down there and have another shot. Nobody is going to give us a chance in the game, and probably rightfully so. We'll be a huge underdog, we understand that."
On Iowa's defense, which he puts on a par with Penn State's and Ohio State's: "They are very good, very strong up front, very physical up front."
On injuries: Brewster said most, if not all, of the players who either missed the South Dakota State game or left it after being injured could return this week. That list includes CBs Marcus Sherels (ankle) and Traye Simmons (leg), OG Matt Carufel (ankle) and DLs Anthony Jacobs (concussion) and Jewhan Edwards (illness).
