MOBILE, Ala. - Bryant Lee threw four touchdowns and ran for another, propeling Southern University to a 34-24 win over Alabama State on Saturday.
Lee was 29-for-39 with 384 yards and an interception for the Jaguars (6-3, 3-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference). He also rushed for 44 yards.
Juamorr Stewart caught seven balls for 131 yards and a score.
Trailing 10-7 after the first quarter, Lee connected with Stewart on a 51-yard score for a 14-10 lead. He then threw a 5-yard TD pass to Warren Matthews to put Southern up 20-13 at halftime.
In the third, Lee's 12-yard touchdown run and 33-yard TD pass to Gary Hollimon put the Jaguars ahead 34-16.
Andrew Lyons kicked field goals of 28 and 21 yards for Southern.
Chris Mitchell was 18-for-32 with 219 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions for the Hornets (4-6, 1-6).
