Last update: November 14, 2009 - 4:57 PM

WORCESTER, Mass. - Dominic Randolph threw two touchdown passes and ran for another, helping Holy Cross hold off Lafayette 28-26 to clinch the Patriot Football League title on Saturday.

Holy Cross (9-1, 5-0) booked a spot in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs for just the second time in school history, and the first time since 1983. It's the first time since 1991 the Crusaders have won the PFL title and their sixth overall.

Trailing 19-7 in the second quarter, Randolph's 22-yard TD pass to Luke Chmielinski pulled Holy Cross within 19-14. He then ran it in from 1 yard out 11 seconds before halftime, pulling the Crusaders ahead 21-19.

Randolph extended the lead to 28-19 in the third, tossing a 40-yard touchdown pass to Freddie Santana.

Randolph threw for 348 yards and three interceptions.

Rob Curley threw for 312 yards and two touchdowns for Lafayette (8-2, 4-1).
