John Griffin rushes for 140 yards and score, as Northeastern holds off Hofstra 14-13

BROOKLINE, Mass. - John Griffin ran for 140 yards and a touchdown as Northeastern held off Hofstra in a 14-13 win on Saturday.

The Huskies (2-8, 2-5 Colonial Athletic Association) took a 14-3 lead in the third quarter after Matt Carroll's 24-yard passing score to Greg Abelli and a 49-yard touchdown run by Griffin, who finished with 28 carries.

Carroll was 3-for-7 passing for 45 yards for Northeastern.

The Pride's Stever Probst connected with Nick Talbert on a 4-yard touchdown with 13:45 left in the fourth quarter and Hofstra (4-6, 2-5) recorded a safety on the last play of the game for the final margin.

Probst went 12-for-23 passing for 161 yards for the Pride. Anthony Nelson had seven catches for 97 yards.
