Only 10 seconds after MSU Mankato defenseman Nick Canzanello was penalized for holding, Schwartz scored on the power play off an assist from Nate Prosser.
Joe Howe made 31 saves for CC, while Austin Lee stopped 26 shots for the Mavs.
• MICHIGAN TECH 3, MINNESOTA DULUTH 2: Eli Vlaisavljevich scored with 5:53 left in regulation, Kevin Genoe made 48 saves and the Huskies beat the host Bulldogs.
UMD took a 2-1 lead at 4:31 of the third, but Tech tied the score only 34 seconds later on Steven Seigo's unassisted goal.
• NORTH DAKOTA 4, ST. CLOUD STATE 2: David Toews scored two goals, Mario Lamoureux had a goal and an assist and the host Sioux defeated the Huskies.
