Myron P. Medcalf's preseason All-America picks

Last update: November 12, 2009 - 12:29 AM

first team

all-america

G KALIN LUCAS, MICHIGAN STATE

(14.7 ppg, 4.6 apg)

Last season's surprising star in March Madness might be the best point guard in America. He's tasted a title shot and that's not good for the rest of the Big Ten.

G SHERRON COLLINS, KANSAS

(18.9 ppg, 5.0 apg)

He has a chance to get his second NCAA title if he plays up to his potential. With a better supporting cast, he might have a group that rivals that the 2008 NCAA championship squad.

G WILLIE WARREN, OKLAHOMA

(14.6 ppg, 3.1 apg)

Warren was overshadowed by Blake Griffin, but now that the latter's in the NBA, he will shine. Don't be surprised when he gets national player of the year consideration.

F LUKE HARANGODY, NOTRE DAME

(23.3 ppg, 11. 8 rpg)

A four-year man who has done everything in his power to carry Notre Dame basketball during his tenure. Expect another 20/10 performance this year.

C COLE ALDRICH, KANSAS Ø

14.9 ppg, 11.1 rpg

What? A center with a chance to be a lottery pick opted against the NBA draft? That spells trouble for every center in America that's not on his team.

SECOND TEAM

G Patrick Christopher, California

G John Wall, Kentucky

G Evan Turner, Ohio State

F Patrick Patterson, Kentucky

C Greg Monroe, Georgetown

THIRD TEAM

G Greivis Vasquez, Maryland

G Isaiah Thomas, Washington

G Scottie Reynolds, Villanova

F Damion James, Texas

F Craig Brackins, Iowa State
