ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State University, which has two wins and eight losses this football season, has relieved head coach Chris Boden and an assistant, Richard Sweeney, of their duties.
Boden, who has been at Northern for four years, says he's "greatly disappointed." He says he thinks much as been accomplished but that he knows the bottom line in college football is wins.
He says he thinks Northern and the community appreciated some of the positive changes he has made to the football program.
NSU athletic director Bob Olson says Boden and Sweeney are both good people and have worked hard.
Boden will coach the last game of the season Saturday, when the Wolves visit Augustana in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference contest.
