Wentzville, Mo. – Alex Woken scored two goals and Sophie Skarzynski had three assists as the No. 6 Gophers women's hockey team rallied to beat Lindenwood 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in a nonconference game. It was the Gophers' seventh victory in a row and kept them unbeaten (9-0) on the road.

The Lions took a 1-0 lead on Hannah Alt's goal at 3 minutes, 12 seconds of the middle period. Woken tied the score on a power-play goal at 10:53 of the second and got the eventual winner with 1:20 left in the same period. Those goals were her fifth and sixth of the season.

This was Woken's second two-goal game out of the past three. She is a 5-8 sophomore forward.

Freshman defenseman Olivia Knowles made it 3-0 Minnesota (12-4-1) at 2:38 of the third.

"We got down 1-0 but cleaned things up after that," Gophers coach Brad Frost said.

Sidney Peters had 20 saves for the Gophers, Jolene deBruyn 42 for Lindenwood (2-8-1).

"Our team really battled and we got some nice goaltending from Sid Peters," Frost said, whose team only had four defensemen available for the game. "[That] is difficult but all four played extremely hard and well."
