The senior running back put the game on his shoulders, rushing 31 times for 166 yards, including 76 in the first quarter and 136 by halftime. In the process, he surpassed 5,000 career rushing yards and became the second Big Ten back to rush for 1,000 yards for four consecutive seasons, joining Wisconsin's Ron Dayne. "He's a once-in-a-coaching-lifetime kind of young man,'' Wildcats coach Pat Fitzgerald said.

The junior linebacker led the Wildcats with seven tackles, including 2.5 sacks and three tackles for loss. He also intercepted a pass on the Gophers goal line.
