MADISON, WIS. – Justin Kloos scored 1 minute, 43 seconds into overtime Friday, and the Gophers men's hockey team won its seventh game in a row, beating Wisconsin 4-3 before an announced 12,589 at the Kohl Center.

Tyler Sheehy had a goal and an assist and leads the Big Ten with 30 points for the No. 7 Gophers (14-5-2, 6-1 Big Ten), who are on their longest winning streak since 2006-07. They moved into first place in the conference, ahead of No. 1 Penn State, which tied Ohio State 3-3.

Kloos plowed into teammate Rem Pitlick after his backhanded chip squeaked past goalie Jack Berry in OT, the 10th goal of the season for the Gophers captain.

Leon Bristedt and Mike Szmatula scored first-period goals for the Gophers. Wisconsin (10-8-1, 3-2) pulled within 2-1 only 53 seconds into the second period when Wild first-round draft pick Luke Kunin scored his team-best 14th goal.

The Gophers appeared to restore their two-goal lead later in the second period, but what looked like Szmatula's second goal of the game was waved off as Kloos was called for slashing. Instead, the Badgers later tied the score on a goal from Matt Ustaski.

The Gophers went ahead 3-2 when Sheehy scored with 39 seconds left in the period, but the Badgers again tied it on Trent Frederic's goal at 9:21 of the third, and a late Wisconsin flurry was stopped by Eric Schierhorn, who finished with 29 saves, 12 in the third period. Berry stopped 36 shots.
