Boston – Sarah Potomak had a goal and two assists and linemate Kelly Pannek added three assists as the No. 2 Gophers beat Boston University 5-1 on Friday night at Walter Brown Arena.

Minnesota (15-2-2) took a 3-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the game. Megan Wolfe scored on a power play in the second minute, Kate Schipper shorthanded in the seventh and — 1:12 later — Potomak got her 12th goal of the season at even strength.

Cara Piazza made it 4-0 Gophers with the only goal of the middle period.

Mary Parker of Boston University (11-7-1) scored at 11:07 of the third. It was her 17th goal of the season.

Defenseman Lee Stecklein got Minnesota's final goal 2½ minutes later.

Terriers goalie Victoria Hanson stopped 45 shots, 18 in the third period — or more than Sidney Peters faced the whole game. Peters had 14 saves.

Minnesota is 5-0 all-time against Boston University, including NCAA tournament wins in 2013 and 2014.

Pannek's three assists gave the junior center an NCAA-leading 29 — she also has eight goals for 37 points, also an NCAA best — and extended her points streak to 15 games.
