The No. 3 Gophers volleyball team suffered its fourth loss of the season Sunday — all to teams ranked in the nation's top 15 — falling to No. 1 Nebraska in five sets in Lincoln, Neb.

The Huskers (18-8, 9-1 Big Ten) won 24-26, 25-18, 25-18, 22-25, 15-8. The Gophers (15-4, 7-3) have also lost to No. 11 Stanford, No. 14 Michigan State and No. 15 Penn State.

The Gophers had four players with double-digit kills. Sarah Wilhite led with 20 kills, nine digs and four blocks, and she also had a career-high 68 attempts. Alexis Hart had 15 kills, and Molly Lohman and Hannah Tapp each had 10 kills.

Lohman hit a team-best .368, adding eight blocks. Dalianliz Rosado had a team-best 25 digs, and Samantha Seliger-Swenson had 15 digs and 50 assists.

The Huskers had more kills than the Gophers in every set and compiled a season-high 76 overall. Mikaela Foecke (20), Briana Holman (17) and Amber Rolfzen (16) all reached season highs in kills.

Setter Kelly Hunter finished with a career-high 65 assists.

Nebraska also reached a season high in blocks with 17, led by Holman with 10.

Libero Justine Wong-Orantes broke a 23-year-old school record with 35 digs.

Nebraska moved into a first-place tie in the Big Ten with Penn State. Wisconsin stands second at 8-2, and the Gophers, Michigan and Illinois are 7-3.

Motocross racer Dungey takes second

Marvin Musquin defeated Ryan Dungey of Belle Plaine, Minn., in the final Saturday and won the Straight Rhythm competition on the Red Bull motocross series in Pomona, Calif.

Straight Rhythm is a special event in which motocross racers who usually compete in groups on courses with turns instead race head to head on a straight course.

Dungey beat Dustin Pipes in the round of 16, Austin Politelli in the quarterfinals and Josh Hansen in the semifinals.
