GOPHERS BOWL SCENARIOS

If the Gophers beat Wisconsin, they'll be bowl-eligible for the fourth consecutive year, at 6-6. They won't learn their bowl destination until Dec. 6. Three possibilities would be the Foster Farms Bowl (Santa Clara, Calif., vs. a Pac-12 team on Dec. 26), the New Era Pinstripe Bowl (New York, vs. an ACC team on Dec. 26) and the Quick Lane Bowl (Detroit, vs. an ACC team on Dec. 28).

If the Gophers lose to Wisconsin, there's a slim chance they could make a bowl at 5-7. With 40 bowls, there are 80 spots to fill, and entering Friday, 71 teams had qualified with six wins. The Gophers were one of 14 five-win teams with a chance to qualify. The NCAA is waiting to announce how exactly it would handle selecting 5-7 teams if the 80 spots aren't full. The bowls and the conferences will have a big say, and each team's Academic Progress Rate (APR) could come into play. Gophers officials have said they don't expect to reach a bowl if they don't reach six wins.
