These three also are expected to sign with the Gophers during the early signing period:
Bishop Montgomery H.S., Torrance, Calif.
The 6-foot, 170-pound point guard led his team to a state title as a junior and is an honorable mention on the Sporting News' preseason All-America team. The Gophers desperately will need a backup point guard behind Al Nolen. Cobbs fills that void.
Miami Dade CC
The 6-7, 240-pound forward -- who played at Henry Sibley and St. Bernard's and left Marquette after one season-- figures to add some much-needed bulk to the Gophers' lean post presence. He's the kind of burly forward coach Tubby Smith has coveted.
Cooper H.S.
The 6-5, 180-pound wing has more athletic ability than 90 percent of the players in the Big Ten right now. He's known for his highlight-reel dunks. If he adds some bulk to his frame, he could have an immediate impact with the Gophers.
