Recruit Reeves makes SAT cut

Last update: September 28, 2008 - 7:40 PM

Spencer Reeves was surprised the results came back so quickly but not surprised by the result: After failing to meet qualifying standards to play this year, he retook the SAT Sept. 13 and found out last week that he had met the qualifying standard.

He plans on enrolling at Minnesota for the spring semester and taking part in spring practice.

"I felt really confident going into the test," he said from his Texas home. "And I got what I needed."

Reeves is a speedy, highly touted linebacker from Dallas Skyline High School recruited by Gophers coach Tim Brewster and his staff. "I wasn't too nervous about it," he said of the test. "I had hired a tutor and had been going just about every day. I felt confident."
