U women's gameday

2 P.M. at No. 17 IOWA • Carver-Hawkeye ARENA • BTN, 88.5-AM

Gophers (22-7, 11-6 Big Ten): The last time the Gophers played Iowa, center Amanda Zahui B. drew national attention for a 39-point, 29-rebound performance in a 93-80 Gophers victory on Feb. 17. While coach Marlene Stollings expects Iowa to double- and triple-team Zahui, she noted that Zahui's 6-5 height remains a sizeable advantage over the smaller Hawkeyes. Stollings also anticipates the extra attention on Zahui will open up outside shots, and she has told her team that accuracy from three-point range will be important. The Gophers made eight of 12 three-pointers in the victory over Iowa. A Gophers victory would tie the program record for regular-season victories (23, in 1980-81 and 2002-03).

Iowa (22-6, 13-4): After dropping road games to the Gophers and Ohio State for their first consecutive losses of the season, the Hawkeyes got back on track with a victory over Wisconsin on Thursday. That pushed their home record to 15-0, tying the program record for most home victories set in 1992-93, and gave them their 18th victory in a row at Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Guard Samantha Logic is expected to start her 130th game, breaking the program record. Logic, a senior, is averaging 13.1 points; she also leads the Big Ten in assists per game (7.8). Iowa leads the Big Ten in three-pointers made (8.0 per game) and three-point percentage (38.3 percent) and ranks No. 2 in field-goal percentage (45.6 percent).
