NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. — Syessense Davis had 12 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists and five steals, to lead No. 17 Rutgers past Iona 66-58 on Saturday.

Rachel Hollivay's layup with 1:33 left gave the Scarlet Knights (9-2) a 62-55 lead and they made 4 of 6 free throws in the final minute to seal the win.

Rutgers opened the game on a 9-0 run and led the whole way but never by more than 10 as Iona (4-6) stayed within striking distance.

Rutgers had an 8-2 run to go up 46-38 on Kahleah Copper's layup with 12:02 left. The Gaels closed within two with 6:52 left, but Davis and Cynthia Hernandez hit back-to-back 3-pointers to put Rutgers back in control.

Copper led Rutgers with 19 points. Tyler Scaife added 12 points and Hollivay grabbed 10 rebounds.

Damika Martinez scored 22 and Joy Adams had 10 points and 14 rebounds for Iona.
