WINTER PARK, Fla. — Nina Davis had 26 points and 17 rebounds, and Niya Johnson hit the go-ahead basket with a minute left in No. 9 Baylor's 74-72 victory over No. 19 Syracuse 74-72 on Friday night in the Florida Sunshine Classic.

Syracuse had the ball with 16.1 seconds remaining with a chance to tie or take the lead, but Alexis Peterson's driving shot fell off the rim, giving Baylor (9-1) its eighth straight victory.

Diamond Henderson hit five 3-pointers and scored 27 points to lead Syracuse (8-2). Briana Day had 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Baylor had 19 turnovers in the first 20 minutes.

TIP-INS Baylor: The Bears' ranked No. 1 nationally in scoring margin at plus-36 entering the game.

Syracuse: The Orange are 10-45 against Top 25 competition under coach Quintin Hillman. The team's last win against a Top 25 team came Jan. 30, 2014, against then-No. 6 North Carolina.
