Six teams from Minnesota were selected to the NCAA Division II and III football playoff fields on Sunday.

NSIC co-champions Minnesota State Mankato and Minnesota Duluth will play in the 24-team Division II field, while MIAC champion St. John's, UMAC champion St. Scholastica and Midwest Conference champion Macalester earned automatic berths in the 32-team Division III bracket. St. Thomas, which tied for second in the MIAC, was one of eight at-large teams named to the D-III field.

MSU Mankato was named the No. 2 seed in the six-team Super Region 3. The Mavericks (11-0) and top-seeded Ouachita Baptist (10-0) have first-round byes.

Minnesota Duluth (11-0), the No. 4 seed, will play host to fifth-seeded Northwest Missouri State (10-1). Northwest Missouri State, making its 11th consecutive playoff appearance, is the defending Division II champion.

The other two teams in the region are third-seeded Pittsburg State and sixth-seeded Harding.

Macalester (9-1) will meet defending national champion Wisconsin-Whitewater (10-0) in the first round.

St. John's (9-1) will play host to St. Scholastica (10-0), while St. Thomas (8-2) will play at Wartburg (10-0).
