Nittany Lions upset UMass-Lowell

• PENN STATE 4, UMASS-LOWELL 1: The Nittany Lions got one of their biggest wins in the four-year history of their program by upsetting the No. 4 River Hawks (7-2-2) on the road. Casey Bailey scored twice in the first nine minutes for Penn State (6-2-2), and teammate Eric Scheid made it 3-0 with 19 seconds left in the opening period.

• BOWLING GREEN 3, OHIO STATE 2: Brandon Hawkins' goal with 2:40 left gave the No. 19 Falcons (8-3-1) the road victory. Josh Healey and Sam Jardine scored goals for the Buckeyes (3-6-1).

• MICHIGAN 6, AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL 3: Travis Lynch scored twice as the Wolverines (4-5) beat the visiting Yellow Jackets (2-7-1).

NCHC

• ST. CLOUD STATE 1, WESTERN MICHIGAN 1 (OT): Kalle Kossila scored late in the second period for the visiting Huskies and Will Kessel early in the third for the Bronocos (3-6-1, 1-4-1 NCHC) who won a shootout for an extra point in the standings. Charlie Lindgren had 22 saves for No. 15 St. Cloud State (4-5-1, 1-2-1).

• NORTH DAKOTA 4, MIAMI 1: Drake Caggiula had two goals and an assist as No. 2 UND (8-2-1, 3-1 NCHC) beat the No. 7 RedHawks (8-4, 4-2) for a split of their series in Grand Forks. Mark MacMillan and Michael Parks had the other goals for North Dakota. Anthony Louis put Miami ahead 1-0 early in the second period. Zane McIntye had 28 saves for the home team, Ryan McKay 23 for the RedHawks.

WCHA

• MICHIGAN TECH 4, BEMIDJI STATE 2: Alex Petan's goal, 45 seconds into the third period, broke a 2-2 tie and kept the No. 5 Huskies (10-0, 8-0 WCHA) unbeaten in Bemidji. The Beavers (3-7, 2-4) led 1-0 after one period and 2-1 in the middle of the second on goals by Nate Arentz and Brendan Harms. Bemidji State outshot the Huskies 35-23, including 14-9 in the third period.
