SERIES FINALE PREVIEW: NO. 15 NOTRE DAME AT NO. 1 GOPHERS

Sunday 4 p.m. at Mariucci Arena.

TV/radio/live stream: ESPNU; 1500-AM; ESPN3/WatchESPN.

Gophers at a glance: The Gophers (6-1) are coming off their most complete effort of the season. Twelve players contributed 15 points in Friday's 5-0 victory over Notre Dame. The five goal-scorers were assisted by seven individuals. Kyle Rau, Taylor Cammarata and Michael Brodzinski were the only multipoint scorers with two assists apiece. The defensemen showed improvement despite playing without the injured Brady Skjei. The Gophers gave up only 20 shots on goal and Adam Wilcox eliminated any mistakes to secure his ninth career shutout. The off day in-between games shouldn't be a problem for the Gophers. They opened the season with a Friday/Sunday schedule and won the Ice Breaker Tournament at Notre Dame.

Irish at a glance: The first road test of the season for Notre Dame (5-3-1) ended badly Friday. The Irish had a six-game unbeaten streak ended and suffered their first loss since being shut out by Minnesota Duluth nearly a month ago. Offense has been a problem for the Irish over the last two games. They are scoreless over the past 92-plus minutes, while giving up seven unanswered goals going back to the second period of their tie with Vermont a week ago. The Irish need forward Mario Lucia, Gophers coach Don Lucia's son, to get back into a rhythm if they hope to salvage a series split. Lucia entered the series with a team-high eight goals and two assists.
