Griffin Neal passed for 272 yards and two touchdowns and Alex McLean rushed for two TDs Saturday, leading host Concordia (Moorhead) past Hamline 42-7.

With the victory, the Cobbers (7-1, 5-1 MIAC), ranked No. 20 in the d3football.com poll, took over sole possession of second place in the conference standings behind Bethel (6-1, 5-0).

Neal threw 3-yard and 50-yard TD passes to Brandon Zylstra five minutes apart in the first half as the Cobbers used a ball-control offense to take a 29-0 lead at halftime.

Concordia had scoring drives of 67, 72, 79 and 77 yards in the first half.

St. John's 52, Carleton 3: Sam Sura rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns and Nick Martin ran for three TDs for the host Johnnies.

Martin's scoring runs of 11, 4 and 10 yards in the first half helped the Johnnies (6-1, 4-1) take a 28-3 halftime lead.

Sura's second TD, on a 2-yard run early in the third quarter, extended St. John's lead to 34-3.

The Johnnies, who outgained the Knights (1-7, 0-6) 418-183, moved into a tie for third place in the MIAC with Gustavus Adolphus, which was idle on Saturday.

Augsburg 38, St. Olaf 20: Aytron Scott passed for 242 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for two TDs, leading the Auggies to a victory in Northfield.

Joey Sonnenfeld's two TD receptions and a 68-yard scoring run by Jerise Washington staked the Auggies (3-4, 2-3) to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

J.J. Strnad rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown for the Oles (1-5, 1-7).
