Gophers sophomore goaltender Adam Wilcox was announced a finalist for the inaugural Mike Richter Award on Wednesday. The award recognizes college hockey's top goaltender.

Wilcox is among five finalists, including fellow Big Ten goaltender Wisconsin's Joel Rumpel, and leads the group with a 23-4-6 record. His 1.91 goals-against average and .934 save percentage is second among the finalists.

The recognition comes just days after Wilcox was named the Big Ten Player of the Year and Goaltender of the Year. He is also a Hobey Baker Award nominee and is considered a shoo-in for the award's finalists, which will be announced Thursday.
