Carleton College’s Amelia Campbell, a sophomore from Sturgeon Bay, Wis., won the pentathlon in record-breaking fashion Friday at the NCAA Division III track and field championships in Lincoln, Neb.

Her total of 3,884 points was a meet record and the second-highest total in Division III history to her 3,914 points last week at the MIAC championships.

Auggies sixth on mat

Augsburg was in sixth place with seven points after the first session of the NCAA Division III national wrestling championships on Friday in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Auggies heavyweight Chad Johnson, a two-time defending champion, pinned his first opponent in 6:37. The senior from Ferryville, Wis., improved his record to 32-1. Teammate Mike Fuenffinger, a junior from Hibbing, Minn., won on a major decision at 125. He placed seventh a year ago.

The other six wrestlers for Augsburg, an 11-time national champion, lost either their first or second match. They competed in wrestlebacks on Friday night.
