SERIES PREVIEW

NO. 1 GOPHERS at NO. 13 MICHIGAN

Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Saturday at 6 p.m. at Yost Arena in Ann Arbor, Mich.

TV/radio: ESPNews on Friday and Big Ten Network on Saturday; 107.1-FM Friday, 1500-AM Saturday.

Gophers at a glance: A Big Ten regular-season title is on the line for the Gophers (24-4-6, 13-2-3-0 Big Ten). A win or two points in the standings will clinch the title outright. The Mariucci/Renfrew Trophy, awarded to the series winner, is also up for grabs. The Gophers swept the Wolverines at Mariucci Arena earlier this season and scored nine goals in two games. Forward Sam Warning will likely return to the lineup after missing last Saturday's game with an upper-body injury.

Wolverines at a glance: Michigan (17-11-4, 9-7-2-1) is eager for success against the Gophers. The Wolverines' last win against the old rival was in 2009 in Ann Arbor and they're 3-7 in the past 10 meetings dating to 2004. Winning at Yost Arena, though, is one of the toughest tasks in college hockey, Gophers coach Don Lucia said. Michigan has lost just two games (9-2-3) at home this season. Forwards Phil Di Giuseppe and Boo Nieves are coming off career-high games with three points each.
