Gophers at a glance: Minnesota (13-8, 2-5 Big Ten) limps back to Williams Arena following its worse loss of the season — a 30-point blowout at No. 13 Penn State on Sunday that was televised on network TV. And now the Gophers face a deep Iowa team that handed them a 78-71 loss in Iowa City on Jan. 8. … Rachel Banham has averaged 27.7 points in her past seven games and had 25 against Penn State. But, as has been the case for much of this season, Minnesota had little other offense in the loss. Only four players scored, and the Gophers committed 21 turnovers to Penn State’s eight. … Redshirt freshman Amanda Zahui B. recorded her ninth double-double of the season (16 points, all in the second half, and 12 rebounds), but had seven turnovers and fouled out for the third time in seven Big Ten games. ... Sophomore guard Shayne Mullaney, who missed Sunday’s game with concussion symptoms, will be a game-time decision.

Iowa at a glance: The Hawkeyes (16-5, 4-3) sit in fifth place in the Big Ten standings, coming off an 84-75 win over Indiana on Saturday. After starting its conference slate 0-2, Iowa has won four of its last five — a streak that started with that Jan. 8 win over Minnesota. … The Hawkeyes have five players averaging double digit points, led by former Hill-Murray standout Bethany Doolittle’s 14.3 points per game. … Junior guard Samantha Logic is currently the only player in the Big Ten averaging at least 13 points (13.9), six rebounds (6.4) and six assists (7.0) per game. … The Hawkeyes have two other Minnesotans who are start: St. Paul Central’s Theairra Taylor and Sauk Centre’s Kali Peschel.
