U women’s gameday

8 p.m. at NO. 18 NEBRASKA • PINNACLE BANK ARENa, LINCOLN, NEB. • bTN (88.5-FM)

Gophers at a glance: With a dominating 94-59 victory over Northwestern on Sunday, the Gophers (12-5, 1-2) put an emphatic end to a two-game skid to start the Big Ten season. Junior guard Rachel Banham led the way with 28 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists, but it was the hot shooting of senior Sari Noga that gave the Gophers another scorer they have needed. Noga made four three-pointers and had 17 points, including eight in a row during a second-half stretch that helped Minnesota pull away. … The Gophers are only 1-3 in road games this season, their only victory coming in the season-opener at Northern Iowa. Minnesota has not won at Nebraska since Dec. 5, 2006.

Nebraska at a glance: The Cornhuskers (12-3, 2-1) return to Lincoln following a decisive victory of their own on Sunday — a 75-56 win at Illinois with senior Jordan Hooper and junior Emily Cady combined for 41 points. Nebraska went 6-for-13 from behind the arc in the second half to pull away. … Hooper, a 6-2 forward, averages 20.3 points and 10.5 boards per game, both team highs, and needs 10 points for 2,000. … Nebraska has been ranked as high as No. 10 this season, and is 10-1 at Pinnacle Bank Arena in its first season playing there.
