Gophers wrestlers won the final eight bouts — four by major decision — in a 28-6 dual victory over Wisconsin on Sunday at the Sports Pavilion. The victory improved the second-ranked Gophers to 6-0, 3-0 in the Big Ten.

Victories by No. 5 Chris Dardanes (141 pounds) and No. 2 Nick Dardanes (149) sparked the eight-match winning streak. Nick Dardanes’ major decision over Rylan Lubeck gave the Gophers their first lead of the dual, 7-6.

Fifth-ranked Logan Storley entered the Gophers’ lineup after sitting out on Friday evening and walked away with a 9-5 decision over Wisconsin’s Scott Liegel at 174 pounds. Scott Schiller, ranked No. 1 at 197, remained unbeaten with a win over Timothy McCall. Schiller (20-0) is the only Gophers wrestler without a loss this season.

Top-ranked Tony Nelson won a decision over Badgers heavyweight Connor Medbery.

Swarm drops to 0-2

The Swarm held a commanding edge in shots on goal and scoring opportunities for the second game in a row but ran into a hot goaltender and lost 8-5 to the Vancouver Stealth in a National Lacrosse League game Saturday night in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Vancouver’s Tyler Richards turned away 45 shots on his way to posting a .900 saves percentage. The Swarm outshot the Stealth 50-33.

Minnesota (0-2) went 1-for-6 on the power play, failing to convert on two key fourth-quarter manpower advantages and giving up a shorthanded goal to Vancouver’s Jeff Molesky in the opening quarter.

Transition player Kiel Matisz led the Swarm with two goals and an assist. Scott Jones scored his first career goal, and goalkeeper Tyler Carlson made 25 saves.
