Key players: Senior Darqueze Dennard was named the Big Ten’s Defensive Back of the Year, and sophomore Shilique Calhoun was named the league’s Defensive Lineman of the Year. Junior running back Jeremy Langford has rushed for at least 100 yards in seven consecutive games.

Did you know? Michigan State’s seniors have gone 40-12 over the past four years, giving them more wins than any class in the school’s 117-year football history. Michigan State’s teams from 1952 to 1955 had a higher winning percentage, however, going 30-8.

Stats: The Spartans rank fourth in the nation in scoring defense (11.8 points per game) and 63rd in scoring offense (29.4). They lead the nation in total defense (237.7 yards per game) and rushing defense (64.8). Calhoun and Denicos Allen have combined for 28½ tackles for a loss.
