– The Gophers women’s hockey team rebounded from its first loss in 63 games on Saturday with a 5-1 nonconference victory over Yale.

The No. 1-ranked Gophers, who had a 62-game winning streak ended last Sunday by North Dakota, outshot the Bulldogs 57-20 in extending their road winning streak to 36 games and giving coach Brad Frost a milestone.

The victory was Frost’s 200th as the Gophers’ coach. Frost has a record of 200-37-16 in seven seasons at Minnesota.

The Gophers (14-1-0) took a 3-0 lead over Yale (2-6-1) in the first period. Freshman Dani Cameranesi opened the scoring 7 minutes, 26 seconds into the game. Teammates Hannah Brandt and Kelly Terry scored 65 seconds apart late in the period.

Rachel Ramsey and Meghan Lorence scored in the second period as Minnesota took a 5-0 lead.

Brook Garzone had two assists for the Gophers, who had 10 different players with at least one point.
