North Dakota State senior linebacker Grant Olson likely will be out for the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Olson, who played at Wayzata High School, is the leading tackler for the top-ranked team in the Championship Subdivision this season. He also led the team in 2012. Olson was injured in the second half of NDSU’s 28-10 victory over Illinois State on Saturday. The Bison (9-0) are seeking a third consecutive FCS title.

Ohio State junior forwards Tanner Fritz and Max McCormick were the first and second stars, respectively.

• Minnesota State goalie Cole Huggins was the WCHA’s rookie of the week. Huggins, of Centennial, Colo., stopped 42 shots in a 1-0 overtime victory over Bowling Green on Saturday. He also had nine saves in 1½ scoreless periods the night before.

• Northwestern’s Nia Coffey, who played for Hopkins High School, was named the Big Ten’s co-freshman of the week in women’s basketball. She had 19 points and five blocks in the Wildcats’ 79-63 victory over the University of Illinois at Chicago.

• Gophers divers Maggie Keefer, a senior from Stillwater, and Dylan Zoe, a sophomore from Eagan, were named the Big Ten divers of the week — Keefer for the fourth time this season, Zoe for the first. Each won both diving events against North Dakota with NCAA Zone diving qualifying totals.

• The Gophers women’s hockey team (12-0) was ranked No. 1 in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine’s weekly poll for the 34th consecutive week.
