Amanda Zahui B. had 14 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks, as the Gophers women's basketball team beat Minnesota State Moorhead 69-54 on Saturday afternoon in their second exhibition game before an announced 2,547 at Williams Arena.

The Gophers finished 2-0 in preseason games; they beat Winona State by 38 on Tuesday when Zahui B., a 6-5 redshirt freshman from Stockholm, Sweden, had 28 points and 19 rebounds.

"I thought we played better the other night," coach Pam Borton said. "This was a little bit of a reality check. I thought our players faced adversity out there, but I thought we did some good things. I think we as coaches saw some things from our team and individual players. If Amanda gets into foul trouble, we have to figure out what we are going to do to score inside."

Zahui B., who had 12 points after halftime Saturday, obviously is going to be a big part of the Gophers offense this season. And, of course, so will returning All-Big Ten guard Rachel Banham. She had 21 points, five assists and only two turnovers against the Dragons. Banham was 10-for-11 at the free-throw line.

Sari Noga had 11 points and Micaëlla Riché 10 for the Gophers, who led only 35-34 at halftime and didn't pull away until the middle of the second half.

Megan Strese had 16 points and Morgan Zabel 14 for the Dragons.
