Gophers junior guard Andre Hollins is one of 29 players that will try out later this month for the United States' World University Games team, USA Basketball announced Monday.

The players will participate in a training camp June 24-30 in Colorado Springs before the 12-player roster is announced for the competition July 7-16 in Kazan, Russia.

Hollins led the Gophers with 14.6 points and 3.4 assists per game last season. He is one of seven Big Ten players invited to the training camp.

Pilot wins, named to Hall of Fame

It was a big Monday for Claudia Pilot. A member of Austin Country Club, Pilot not only won her fourth Minnesota Golf Association Women's Mid-Amateur Championship, but she was also named as an inductee to the MGA-PGA Minnesota Golf Hall of Fame.

Pilot shot even-par 72 Monday for a two-round total of 151 in Brainerd, four strokes in front of first-round leader Kendal Hake and six-time champion Leigh Klasse. Pilot won the tournament for the first time in 10 years.

In addition, Pilot was one of five people who will be inducted in the Minnesota Golf Hall of Fame as its Class of 2013. The others are Larry Murphy, Rosalyn Wisen, W.R. (Ray) Smith and C.T. (Clive) Jaffray.

Adam Frost went 3-for-5 with a homer, two RBI and three runs scored, and the St. Paul Saints scored three eighth-inning runs to beat Rockland 8-5 in Pomona, N.Y., ending a three-game losing streak.
