Chart: Big Ten track and field outdoor championships

  • Updated: May 7, 2013 - 9:33 PM

• When: Friday-Sunday

• Where: Columbus, Ohio

• Men’s outlook: The Gophers will look to improve on last year’s seventh-place Big Ten finish. Travis Burkstrand and Harun Abda finished 1-2 in the 800 meters at the Drake Relays and could score big this weekend. Also keep an eye on two-sport athlete Wally Ellenson, who joined the track team after the basketball season and finished fifth in the high jump at the Drake Relays.

• Women’s outlook: Minnesota finished ninth at last year’s Big Ten outdoor championships with 45 points, a major improvement after scoring just 11 at the 2011 meet. Senior Todea-Kay Willis ran the 100 meters at the Drake Relays in 11.83, finishing sixth and breaking 12 seconds for the third time this year.
