Junior forward Micaella Riche posted her fifth career double- double with 17 points and a career-high 15 rebounds to lead the Gophers women's basketball team to a 59-53 victory over Indiana on Sunday in Bloomington, Ind.

The Gophers (18-12, 7-9 Big Ten) will be the No. 8 seed in the upcoming Big Ten women's tournament and will face No. 9 seed Ohio State -- featuring former Minneapolis South star Tayler Hill -- at 6 p.m. Thursday at Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., a suburb of Chicago.

Rachel Banham chipped in with 15 points and six assists and Shayne Mullaney added 11 points and five rebounds for the Gophers. It was the second consecutive game that the trio of Riche, Banham and Mullaney has each scored in double figures.

Minnesota shot 40 percent from the field, including 43.3 in the second half, while outrebounding the Hoosiers 41-34. The Gophers also scored 36 points in the paint, compared with 22 for Indiana (11-18, 2-14).

The two teams were even in the opening minutes of the game, with the Gophers maintaining a slight lead. Indiana cut that margin to five points (26-21) at halftime with a 5-0 run in the last minute of the half.

Banham and Mullaney each scored seven points to lead the Gophers in the opening 20 minutes of play, while Riche added six points and seven rebounds.

Minnesota shot 11-for-30 from the field in the first half, outscored the Hoosiers 14-8 in the paint and scored 11 points off 11 Indiana turnovers.

The Gophers opened the second half on a 17-11 run to take an 11-point lead at 43-34 with 12:15 to play, but the home team once again cut Minnesota's to six points at 43-37 with 8:34 left and to five at 53-48 with 2:28 remaining.

Indiana would make it a three-point game with 28 seconds remaining, but a successful three-point play from Riche pushed Minnesota's lead back to six points with 23 seconds left to help the Gophers seal the victory.

Sasha Chaplin led Indiana with 17 points and nine rebounds.
