• Gophers seniors Micah Hegerle and Harun Abda swept the weekly Big Ten indoor track and field awards after standout performances at Friday's Snowshoe Open. Hegerle was named the conference's field athlete of the week after winning the weight throw at 21.84 meters -- the second-best throw in the nation this year and the best in the Big Ten. Abda was named the Big Ten track athlete of the week after picking up an individual title in the 800 meters with a time of 1:49.68.

• For the seventh time in eight years, MIAC football led NCAA Division III in attendance. The MIAC welcomed 161,870 total fans (an average of 3,372 per game) in 2012, with a pair of schools -- St. John's and Concordia (Moorhead) -- both ranking in the top five.
