Redshirt freshman defensive back Justin Otto intercepted a pass in the second overtime to help Minnesota State Mankato outlast Northwest Missouri State 38-35 Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Division II playoffs in Mankato.

After Otto's interception -- his first of the season -- Sam Brockshus kicked a 27-yard field goal for the Mavericks.

The Mavericks (12-0) will play host to Missouri Western next Saturday in the quarterfinals.

The Mavericks led 21-0 at halftime and 28-14 early in the fourth quarter. But the Bearcats (10-3) scored twice in a two-minute span midway through the fourth quarter to tie the score at 28-all.

Wisconsin-Oshkosh 37, Bethel 14: The host Titans rallied from a early 14-point deficit for a second-round victory in the Division III playoffs. Bethel had drives of 99 and 80 yards -- both capped by TD receptions by Mitch Hallstrom -- to take a 14-0 lead. It was 14-7 at halftime.

South Dakota State 58, Eastern Illinois 10: Zach Zenner, of Eagan, rushed for 295 yards, including TDs of 68, 4 and 7 yards, as the Jackrabbits (9-3) crushed the Panthers (7-5) in a first-round FCS playoff game in Brookings, S.D.
