The Gophers women's hockey team broke the NCAA record for most victories in a row Saturday, routing Minnesota State Mankato 9-1 at Ridder Arena for their 22nd win a row dating to last season.

The No. 1-rated Gophers (14-0, 10-0 WCHA) were tied 1-1 with the Mavericks after the first period, but scored four goals in the second and four more in the third.

Amanda Kessel had two goals and three assists for the Gophers, Kelly Terry four assists and Megan Bozek two goals. The hosts outshot MSU Mankato 48-11.

The Gophers' winning streak began Feb. 18 against North Dakota. Harvard won 21 consecutive games in 2008.
