Olympian Missy Franklin won the 200-meter butterfly with a national age-group record and fellow Olympian Ryan Lochte won two events on the opening night of the Minneapolis Grand Prix on Friday at the University of Minnesota's Aquatic Center.

Franklin won in 1 minute, 42.28 seconds to set a national record for 17-18-year-old girls. She was four seconds ahead of second-place Dagny Knutson, who touched in 1:46.70, in the first meet of the Grand Prix season.

Lochte won the 200 freestyle in 1:35.15 after catching Mads Glaesner of Denmark, who led most of the way. Glaesner was second in1:35.69.

Lochte later won the 100 butterfly in 46.73. Kyler Van Swol of the Gophers was second in 47.66.

Olympian Claire Donahue won the women's 100 fly in 52.71, more than a second ahead of the field; national team member Mike Alexandrov led all the way in winning the 100 breaststroke in 52.80; and 14-year-old Becca Mann won the 400 individual medley in 4:10.29 -- 11 seconds ahead of the field.

The meet continues Saturday.

Before the competition, Franklin said she is content waiting for the endorsement money that's bound to come her way after her five medals -- four golds -- at the London Olympics.

"Someday, I would love more than anything to be a professional swimmer, but right now I just want to do it because I love it. Being part of a college team is something that's so special," Franklin said.
