When/where: 1 p.m. today at Mariucci Arena.

TV/radio: Fox Sports North; 1500-AM.

Records: Canisius (1-3-1); No. 2 Gophers 3-1.

Gophers at a glance: Two days after a 2-2 tie in an exhibition game against the USA Under-18 team, the Gophers look to improve to 3-0 at home. It's the Gophers' first-ever game against Canisius. They're 9-2-1 all-time vs. Atlantic Hockey Association teams. Travis Boyd and Nate Condon combined for seven points last weekend in a split at Michigan Tech, while Seth Ambroz ended a 12-game drought with two goals in Saturday's win. Nick Bjugstad and Erik Haula lead with three goals apiece. Adam Wilcox looks to improve to 3-0. D Brady Skjei (banged up) won't play, while D Jake Parenteau (knee) is questionable. F Kyle Rau (ankle) and D Mark Alt (banged up) will return.

Griffins at a glance: Canisius, 3-20-2 all-time against nationally ranked schools, has scored only five goals in five games but has allowed only nine goals. It has killed off 24 of 26 opposing power plays. Goalie Tony Capobianco is looking for his first win despite a 1.98 goals-against average and .929 save percentage. Inver Grove Heights' Keegan Asmundson was in goal for the lone win. Two other Minnesotans on the roster are West St. Paul's Ryan Bohrer and Stillwater's Ben Danford. Preston Shupe leads with two points and 13 shots in five games.

Note: Locked-out NHLers, headlined by Zach Parise and Ryan Suter, will take part in a game/auction to benefit "Defending the Blue Line" at 7 p.m. at Mariucci Arena. Tickets can be purchased for $20 at mygophersports.com ($30 at the door).
