Gophers are out at ITA Tulsa tourney

Gophers men's tennis players Rok Bonin and Leandro Toledo, competing at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., both lost in the main draw on Thursday. Southern Cal's Emilio Gomez downed Toledo 6-3, 6-0. Bonin played Princeton's Matija Pecotic, dropping the match 6-0, 6-2. It marked the first time in nearly a decade that more than one representative from Minnesota qualified for the tourney.
Swarm signingsThe Minnesota Swarm re-signed forward Josh Gillam and defender Matt Kelly to one-year contracts. The team also agreed to a one-year deal with free agent Zach Higgins.
Senior Match PlayDon Berry from Edinburgh USA won the Minnesota PGA Senior Match Play Championship at Elk River Golf Club by defeating Steve Whillock from Oak Marsh Golf Club 4 and 3 in the title match.
In the semifinals, Berry defeated George Smith from Dick's Sporting Goods 6 and 5.
