OFFENSIVE MVP: Mark Weisman, Iowa

It's convenient that his name rhymes with Heisman, because the walk-on is running the ball as if he wants to be a contender. He had six TDs combined in his previous two games coming into Saturday. Then he carved up the Gophers for 177 yards rushing and a touchdown, bruising and battering what had previously been a stout defense. He had 155 yards in the first half as Iowa built a 24-0 lead at the break.

DEFENSIVE MVP: Christian Kirksey, Iowa

The junior linebacker snuffed out a Gophers drive early in the second half with a fumble recovery and cemented the game with a 68-yard interception return for a touchdown later in the second half. He also finished with five tackles.

BY THE NUMBERS

328 Yards of offense for Iowa in the first half. The Gophers were giving up 308 per game coming in.

5 Games in the Gophers' winning streak, the longest active one in the Big Ten, that ended Saturday.

2 Receptions by Gophers fullback Mike Henry, the first two of his career.
