Football teams require lots of resources, and the consumption goes up during two-a-day practices. Some of the numbers:
Practices scheduled by coach Jerry Kill in advance of the Gophers' Aug. 30 season opener in Las Vegas.
Two-a-days, or two practices held the same day, scheduled by Minnesota this year. The NCAA limits the number of two-a-days allowed, and requires at least one day between each.

Dinner entrees prepared and served each night to the 140 Gophers players and staff members; caterer John Schiltz says most players eat two or three entrees apiece.
Pounds of strawberries consumed, on average, each day at Gophers' salad and fruit bar, roughly six cases' worth.
Pounds of ice used each week by Gophers athletic trainers, for ice packs, ice baths and to chill athletic beverages and water.
Rolls of athletic tape used to brace players' ankles and wrists before each Gophers practice.
Times each player is required to be weighed by a training intern per practice, once before and once after, in order to monitor liquid retention.
