The Gophers women's 4x100 relay team, a close-knit group from diverse backgrounds, is seeded third and is among the favorites in the Big Ten outdoor track and field championships starting Friday at Wisconsin. Here is a look at all four members:
KYLIE PETERSON
• Redshirt junior, 5-5, communication studies major
• Hometown: Apple Valley
• Career highlights: second in the 100 in 2010 Big Ten meet, fourth in 100 (11.58) on U's all-time list
CHIMEREM [CHIM] OKOROJI
• Senior, 5-1 1/2, child psychology major
• Hometown: Eau Claire, Wis.; born in Owerri, Nigeria
• Career highlights: fourth in the 100 (11.53) in the 2011 Big Ten meet, time was third-best by a Gopher
Nyoka Giles
• Senior, 6-1 1/2, manufacturing technology major
• Hometown: Diego Martin, Trinidad
• Career highlights: Ran third-fastest 200 meters (23.80) in school history and 10th-fastest 100 (11.84) in 2009
Todea-Kay [T.K.] Willis
• Redshirt junior, 5-9 1/2, business and marketing major
• Hometown: Mavis Bank, Jamaica
• Career highlights: 2010 Big Ten long jump champion, holds school record of 21-1 1/2 in long jump
