The Bulldogs had an 11-0-4 unbeaten streak in midseason and, after sweeping Notre Dame, were ranked No. 1 for the first time ever. ... Ferris State, which plays in tiny Ewigleben Ice Arena (2,493 seats), was upset by last-place Bowling Green in the CCHA quarterfinals but made the NCAA field as an at-large team and sixth seed. ...
